CLUB SPORTS POWER COACH COURSE INFORMATION

Basic Objectives:


This course is designed for people who are wanting to learn:

  • the process for learning correct technique of the Olympic lifts or integral parts thereof i.e. power snatch, snatch, power clean, clean, power jerk, jerk, power clean and jerk, clean and jerk.
  • how to coach others to acquire the techniques of olympic weightliting
  • the basic methodology for incorporating olympic lifts into training for persons who seek power, strength, speed and agility development.

The course is more than 50% practical but persons with injuries or disabilities can participate as participants are not assessed on their own lifting ability but on their ability to impact coaching guidance to others. All the information you need to pass the practical and theory assessment is given to you on the course.


Start and finish times


The course is a full weekend course. The usual start and finish times are as follows:

Saturday: 8:30am - 5:00pm

Sunday 9:00am - 4:00pm

Some variations of times may occur.

Course presenters have a wealth of experience and long-histories in coach education.


Continuing Education Credits (CECs)


This course provides 15 CECs for people who are registered with Fitness Australia.
