COACHING COURSES

The coach education program of the Australian Weightlifting Federation provides training, upskilling and accreditation for all persons interested in coaching Olympic Weightlifting. Students come from various sporting backgrounds but share a common desire to learn best practise for developing performance excellence in the Olympic lifts and associated exercises.

There are three levels of accreditation:

  • Level 1 – AWF Club Weightlifting / Sports Power Coach Level 1
  • Level 2 – AWF State Weightlifting / Sports Power Coach Level 2
  • Level 3 – AWF National Weightlifting Coach

Although primarily focused on coaching, the Level 1 course is also enjoyed by many athletes as a means to access cutting edge information from leading coaches in Australia.

Courses take place in all capital cities of Australia and in some regional locations. If you don’t see the course you are looking for, please register your interest by emailing [email protected]

There is often significant interest in courses and prospective participants are advised to register for a course as soon as possible as, in some cities, courses sell out quickly. You can book a place on a course by paying a deposit. This is accomplished by “buying” a course but selecting the “manual payment” option and transferring $300 to the bank account details given in the process. Further payments can then be made at intervals that suit you.
