For any AWF member who has a strong desire to be in contention to be nominated to the CGA to be a 2018 Commonwealth Games team member may contest the 2017 Pacific Cup International which will take place on 5th August, so long as they have the personal funds to cover transport to and from New Caledonia.
Paul Coffa MBE, General Secretary, Oceania Weightlifting Federation (OWF), has been able to convince the IWF to have a tournament at the Oceania Institute, New Caledonia, on 5th August, 2017. The event is the Pacific Cup International which is normally scheduled for December.
