AWF Record Standards Released

AWF Record Standards Released

Jan 24 2025

Dear Members,

Please find attached the new AWF National Record Standards.

These Record Standards have been calculated using a similar method to that used for the National Championships minimum qualifying standards.

Summary:

  • Senior Record Standards base: 25th ranked Sinclair point score in 2024
  • Junior Record Standards base: 20th ranked Sinclair point score in 2024
  • Youth Record Standards base: 15th ranked Sinclair point score in 2024
  • Under 15 Record Standards base: 10th ranked Sinclair point score in 2024
  • Masters Record Standards base: 80% of the Senior Standard for 30-34 years, diminishing by 5% across the age groups

Please note:

In some cases, the sum of the Snatch and Clean & Jerk Standards doesn’t equal the Total Standard due to rounding. This is not an error. Some of the Masters Record Standards have been adjusted to comply with the minimum weight allowed under the IWF Rules.

To claim a record, an athlete must surpass the relevant Record Standard by at least 1kg and the performance must meet the usual validation requirements, i.e. be adjudicated in an official competition by three Technical Officials including two with National Referee or higher qualification and one with State Referee or higher qualification. The National Record Standards will be activated in the AWF system very soon and apply from 1 January 2025.

Kind regards,
Ian Moir
