The AWF Office has been officially informed that the IWF will not recognise the performances of guest lifters at the 2017 Oceania Senior Championships.

As such, athletes who have not lifted in an IWF qualification event to date or have not been selected to lift in an IWF qualification event prior to October, 2017, have only one opportunity left to be eligible to contest the Final Nomination Trials and that is to contest the 2017 Pacific Cup in NCL on 5th August.

Any AWF member who has a strong desire to be in contention to be nominated to the CGA to be a 2018 Commonwealth Games team member may contest the 2017 Pacific Cup International which will take place on 5^th August, so long as they have the personal funds to cover transport to and from New Caledonia. 

Obviously, to be eligible to contest the Final Nomination Trials other criteria will have to be met but by lifting at an IWF approved qualification event such as the 2017 Pacific Cup International the athlete can tick that criteria box.

I remind you all that entries must be submitted via State Member emails and copied to email [email protected] no later than Monday 10^th July, 2017.
