2019 Arafura Games & 2019 Oceania & Commonwealth Masters Weightlifting Championships and Pacific Rim Masters Tournament - Invitation and Regulations

Through the years, the Australian Weightlifting Federation (AWF) has hosted Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games, Goodwill Games, World Championships, Commonwealth and Oceania Championships.

The Australian Weightlifting Federation (AWF) is very proud of its ability to provide excellent levels of participation and competition whilst maintaining the essence of sportsmanship and ensuring an equal field of play.

Thanks to the support of the Oceania and Commonwealth Weightlifting Federation’s, and the Arafura Games Organising Committee, the AWF in 2019 has the honor of presenting two prestigious international weightlifting events, the 2019 Arafura Games in Darwin during the period 26 – 29 April, and the Oceania & Commonwealth Masters Championships, incorporating the Pacific Rim Masters Tournament, on the Gold Coast, Queensland between 13-16 June.

I take this opportunity to cordially invite your athletes, technical officials and team support personnel to participate in these events. I have attached information providing important details about each of these competitions.

EOI - 2019 Team Coach Assignments

The Australian Weightlifting Federation Board invites applications from AWF Coaches who wish to be considered for appointment to AWF Teams in 2019.

Applications must be submitted on the attached form and returned to [email protected] by Sunday 6th January 2019.

2018 Pacific Cup - AWF Team Announcement

ITOs Nominations - 2019 Events

 

The AWF invites expressions of interest from IWF Category 1 Referees with a valid licence for 2017 – 2020 who wish to be nominated to the IWF for one or more of the following International events:

 

  • 2019 IWF Youth World Championships Las Vegas, NV, USA, 8 – 15 March 
  • 2019 IWF Junior World Championships Suva, FIJ, 1 – 8 June
  • 2019 IWF World Championships Pattaya, THA, 16 – 25 September

Ian Moir - Appointed CEO

The AWF Board are delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Ian Moir as the new AWF Chief Executive Officer.

2019 AWF National Championships Qualifying Standards

The 2019 international event qualifying standards will be released prior to 30 November 2018.
