Presented by Nigel Bowers, ACT Academy of Sport, and Grant Haines, President of ACT Weightlifting, this Level 1 Coaching course will take you to a higher understanding of the factors that build success in Olympic Weightlifting. Over the two days you will be taken through best practise methodology for:
- Introducing beginners to the Olympic Lifts safely and effectively.
- Teaching the critical components of Olympic Weightlifting skill
- Developing Olympic Weightlifting skill by using specific exercises and skill drills
- Giving feedback for correcting performance errors.
- Implementing and modifying training programs to meet athlete needs.
- Providing advice on skill, strength and speed development
- Manage inexperienced athletes on the floor of the gym and in a competition environment.
This course will immerse you in practical and theory sessions that will provide you with a better understanding of the wonderful world of Weightlifting technique and training methodology. You will have an opportunity to raise questions and be involved in class discussions.
